Avengers: Age of Ultron Won’t Feature Falcon

Sam “Falcon” Wilson

In spite of appearing in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and having his character a part of Disney XD’s Avengers Assemble cartoon, Anthony Mackie says that as far as he knows, neither he nor his character Sam “Falcon” Wilson will appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

“Chris [Evans] is a good friend of mine. The movie starts in three weeks,” the actor told MovieWeb. “I know he’s read the script. He’s like, ‘Yo, man, I read the Avengers script. It’s good.’ I was like, ‘Really?’ He said, ‘Yeah, Joss is doing rewrites, but it’s good. I was like, ‘Great! So … am I in it?’ And he says, ‘I’ve got to go. I’ll be back.’ What do you mean? Why can’t you just tell me if I’m in the movie? No one will tell me, not one person, so I gave up on it.”

Obviously there’s nothing to say that his character won’t have a minor role that will result in a call once production has started, but with the shoot starting in three weeks, it would seem an odd choice to either not inform him by now or to still be making changes to the script.
