After 100 test flights and a rejected first attempt, the Soul Flyers made a record when Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet leaped from the top of the 4,158 meter Jungfrau summit in the Swiss Alps into a tiny airplane.
The Pilatus Porter light aircraft was flown by Philippe Bouvier and navigated by the project coordinator, Yves “Jetman” Rossy. With 3,200 meters of vertical freefall, the team had 2 minutes and 45 seconds to venture the stunt.
In this long cut of the brave and a challenging effort completed last year, we get to see more footage of the jump and lead up to the impressive moment both BASE jumpers made it safely into the plane before jumping back out for a victory freefall.
