Elon Musk mentioned the idea of using pneumatic tubes as the fifth mode transport called the Hyperloop years ago, and it was only in 2013 that the first concept of it was published. In the next five years, we have seen various concepts and prototypes of the tubes, many in the competitions led by Elon Musk himself, right next to the SpaceX California headquarters.
Elon Musk later congratulated the team with a tweet and shared a video of the moving pod, reaching the finishing line at extreme speed:
Congratulations to WARR team from Tech Univ Munich for winning 2nd @Hyperloop competition! Peak speed of 324 km/h, which is over 200 mph!!
