Apple TV+ has unveiled a charming addition to its Peanuts collection with the upcoming special, “Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin.” The release of the first trailer has generated excitement among fans, promising another delightful adventure in the animated world of Peanuts.

This new narrative delves into the origins of Franklin’s friendship with Charlie Brown, shedding light on how he became an indispensable member of the Peanuts gang. The storyline unfolds as Franklin navigates the challenges of adapting to a new town and forming fresh connections. Constantly on the move due to his father’s military job, Franklin finds solace in a notebook filled with his grandfather’s wisdom on friendship.

As Franklin attempts to integrate with the Peanuts gang using his usual strategies, he encounters difficulties fitting in. However, a revelation about the neighborhood Soap Box Derby race sparks an idea in him – following his grandfather’s advice that everyone loves a winner, Franklin believes winning the race will lead to forging new friendships. The catch? He needs a partner, and that’s where Charlie Brown comes in. Together, they embark on the journey of building a car, simultaneously forging a deep bond. Yet, as the race approaches, the pressure intensifies, raising the question: Can their car and newfound friendship withstand the challenges and reach the finish line?

Directed by Raymond S. Persi, known for his work on “The Simpsons” and “Wreck-It-Ralph,” the special is co-written by Robb Armstrong (of “Jump Start” fame) along with Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz, and Cornelius Uliano. The original story comes from the creative minds of Armstrong and Scott Montgomery (of “The Snoopy Show”).
