Nirvana Members Talk About What Band Means to Them in a Rare Interview

Check out this new 1990 interview with Nirvana that took place at the University of Washington on January 6, 1990. Notably, the three-piece band at the time did not yet include drummer Dave Grohl, who entered into the band later. The drummer at this time was Chad Channing.

The interview was recorded for a TV show for Seattle station KIRO-7 but never made it on the air. Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, and Channing talk about who they are and what the band means to them. They also talk about the Seattle music scene and what Europe is like.

The year after the interview, Nirvana’s “Nevermind” album reach fame, and the band catapulted to superstardom.
