Science Is Baffled With This Mysterious Zone Of Silence In Mexico

There have been strange things happening on the planet, we can rely on science to explain most of the phenomenons. At times, even the scientists are baffled and can give no suitable justification. One of these phenomena is the mysterious zone of silence. It’s based on the Mapimí Biosphere Reserve in the Chihuahuan desert of northern Mexico and has been causing electronic malfunctions for years.

This 31-mile stretch of land got its name, the zone of silence back in 1966 when the oil company Pemex explored the area. The leader of the expedition Augusto Harry de la Peña became extremely frustrated as he continuously failed to get a proper radio signal. The area causes all radio signals to crash and the compass needle goes crazy. Even though the cause of this peculiar behavior is still unknown, rumors of celestial activity and UFO sightings have been popular for a long time.

Many large meteorites landed in the area in the 20th century where one farm was struck twice. The zone of silence first made headlines in 1970 when the US Airforce launched a rocket on July 11th which was set to land in the white sands of Mexico but ended up crashing in the center of this zone.

The subject was investigated by Wernher Von Braun, a Nazi rocket scientist who helped America with its space program. “Von Braun was here for 28 days after the crash,” Benjamin Palacios, a Zone of Silence fanatic whose father was the mayor of a nearby town, said in an interview.“The Americans brought temporary dormitories, labs, kitchens, medical facilities, and set them up right here in the desert. They even built a runway to transport cargo directly to Houston. By rail, they hauled away tons of debris,”

Although there is no proof of any crash or even the craters, it got the attention of the Mexican government. This led to the creation of the Mapimí Biosphere Reserve. There, they created a research station that now draws scientists and biologists from around the world who constantly come to study the area’s flora and fauna.

“There are lots of stories of aliens and unidentified flying objects in the Zone,” explained Geraldo Rivera, a state bureaucrat, and diehard UFO investigator. “People often get lost in the Zone. When this happens, sometimes tall blond beings appear out of nowhere.” All the people who claimed to have had encounters with the aliens are of the opinion that they are tall, lean, fair-haired, ask for water and have perfect command over the Spanish language.

Even Benjamin, who’s lived in the area his whole life, has a story. “I was 12 years old when light appeared from above, and completely encircled us,” he recalled. “I was traveling with my brother in the Zone. We didn’t know what was happening. When we got to back to the ranch, we realized we had lost two hours.”

Even though science is yet inadequate to explain the puzzling phenomenon, it brings a steady stream of tourists.
