Sentinels of the Arctic

Niccolò Bonfadini captured this natural marvel, what we see is snow-covered trees in Lapland, the largest and northernmost region in Finland. The picture, which was featured on NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) on 2012 May 29, was taken in the winter of 2011.

They described the snow-covered trees as ‘watchful aliens’ titling the picture, Sentinels of the Arctic.
